Worth the work
By S.show
Amazon had by far the best price on this kit. The instructions were fairly easy to follow but you want to make sure you understand and it looks right before gluing and nailing as it's very difficult to undo mistakes afterward. Set is made with real plywood so very durable and pieces went together without any sanding though I did need to use masking tape to hold pieces while the glue dried since a few pieces were slightly bowed. The house looks great assembled and was worth the time and effort! It's fairly heavy and almost 3 feet long and 2 feet tall and wide and comes in about 90 pieces so make sure you have enough room to work. Won't fit larger dolls like barbies but works great for my daughter's dolls that are about 3-4 inches tall. Has 2 large attic rooms, 2 on second floor plus hall and 3 on the bottom floor. I love that the roof and front opens and closes easily and roof has safety hinge that drops very slowly so that my daughter should never smash her fingers accidentally.

This is the house that Mama built
By happymama
This is a great dollhouse, and I have only one complaint. Despite its name, it is NOT the "House that Jack Built." It is not the house that Santa or any of those lazy elves built either. This is the house that MAMA built, all by her badass self. In fact, Jack must have been breaking in the sofa or trying out his new bottle opener because Jack did not lift a finger to build this house. No, Mama glued every piece, tightened every screw, and painted and/or decorated every nook and cranny of this house. And where was Jack when it came time to move the enormous finished house upstairs to be hidden from prying eyes? Oh, Jack must have been napping because Mama's friend Audrey had to come over and help. But one thing is for sure--on Christmas morning, amid squeals of delight, Jack will be right there taking credit for his handiwork. I have one final piece of advice Jack...When Mama's not happy, nobody's happy.

Melissa & Doug The House That Jack Built - Katherine
By Jerry R. Cowing
This house was a real pleasure to build. The parts fit perfectly and didn't require any planing nor sawing to get them to fit. It took me 3 weeks of 8 hour days to complete. I feel an air powered brad nailer is essential as it would be difficult to use a hammer to nail certain parts together. I'd also recommend painting the parts before assembling as it would be dificult to get a paint brush into some of the tight corners after they are assembled. I wouldn't say it was easy to build as it took some time and patience, probably on a difficulty scale of 1-10, it's a 5.
