Not Worth the Money
By B. Whitman
My 9 year old son is a huge Star Wars fan. We have just about every book, poster, action figure and video game known to man. He was very excited about being Darth this year (he's already been the clone trooper, a jedi and a storm trooper). When we got the device, it was very difficult to find a way to get it to stay on the mask. It also was not very realistic sounding. It kind of sounded like static instead of Darth's signature breathing. He opted to leave the breathing device at home and enjoyed the light up saber much more.

Almost the same as the movie...
By T. R. Quintana Alvarado
First of all, be sure to replace the button batteries wich are used to sample the sound(replace them with 2 AAA's for longer use) before you use the device, they will probably be worn out and you will get horrible static when you press the button in the remote. Ok, now for the review, the device sounds great and will convince anyone familiar with the famous Lord of The sith and his trademark artificial breathing sound. I would like it to have a little more "bass" like in the movies, but this is not possible with the small speaker it comes with. Also, it should have an on/off switch in wich you can have the device turned on all the time you want instead of having to press the red button with one hand in order to get the sound efect, this can be annoying when you want to wear a costume with mask and having both hands busy with a lightsaber. I hope Rubie's changes this in the future.

The sound is off
By J. Sadler
I was pleased to receive my package quickly from the seller, and upon removing the "try me" tab from the back, gave the unit a try. The breathing sound was incredibly low, not at all like Darth Vader in the movies. I thought this was due to the old test batteries they had in there, so I took those out and added 2 new AAA batteries. The unit sounds exactly the same. It might be defective, but the low price makes me hesitate whether going through the hassle of trying to exchange this thing would be worth it. Guess I'll just stick with super duper deep breath vader.
