Good, but missing some functions I would have liked
By Boulder Mom
My 9 year-old son bought this lightsaber hoping it would fully contract, have lights and sounds and automatically pop out with the push of a button. It does have lights and sounds, and appears to have motion detectors so it can detect when you swing it and hit something, so it makes sounds at the appropriate times. That part is great. The lights are not very bright, but they do work and look good in darkness. The blade does not fully contract into the handle however. About 12 inches of the purple blade is still visible when fully contracted and my son had hoped that it would all disappear into the handle. Also, you have to flick it out to make the blade fully extend (there is no automatic button to do this, but I guess you can't really expect that for $20). The good thing is, once the blade is fully extended, it stays out, but the flip side of this is that it's somewhat hard to contract the blade again. You really have to push hard on the end of it. Overall, it is a good product especially for $20, but if you really care about some of the features that it doesn't have, you might want to consider a different model.

Good buy

Good quality lightsaber. It is sturdy enough to withstand the rough playing by boys. Seems somewhat expensive however for what it does.

Has now withstood the six month test
By Violet Patterson
Got this for my daughter for Christmas, she and my son have "light saber battles" and clash rather regularly (outside of course). They are both still in one piece and the sounds/lights work. I will say that the purple light is not as bright as my son's red one though.
